Nigeria suffered a shock defeat at the hands of debutants Madagascar as they surrendered top spot in Group B of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations which makes their route to the final more difficult.
The three-time winners have not impressed by any means in the competition so far and once again failed to produce anything like their best as they were beaten 2-0 thanks to a goal in each half.
Nigeria’s main problems have been in front of goal where, despite seeing more of the ball, they are struggling to create clear-cut chances and it is higher up the pitch where changes could be made ahead of this game.
CAMEROON
Cameroon were held to a second consecutive goalless draw as Benin frustrated them and their failure to pick up all three points saw them surrender top spot in Group F at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Benin set out to play for a draw and were able to keep Cameroon at bay which cost the Cameroonians an easier route to the final with them now having to face another side that will also feel they should have won their group in Nigeria.
Cameroon have had no issue retaining possession in the tournament so far and have yet to concede a goal but will need to be better in the final third if they are to progress deep in the competition.
