The Nigerian Oil and Gas (NOG) Energy Week Conference and Exhibition which take place from June 29 to 3 July 2025 ,in Abuja Nigeria is a leading event for global energy industry as it unites leaders ,policymakers ,investors and innovators to discuss and strategize on the future of Africa’s energy sector.It also focuses on accelerating progress through investment ,partnership ,and innovation ,with a particular emphasis on attracting investment into Africa’s upstream sector.
The theme of the 2025 conference is “Accelerating Global Energy.Progress Through Investment,Partnerships and Innovation”.
The 24th edition of NOG Energy Week is meant to help to advance conversations on arising African stakes in the global energy industry.
The Organisers of the event said for over two decades ,NOG Energy Week has been at the heart of shaping Africa’s energy progress,driving conversations that influence policy ,investment decisions and industry growth.
They added that in the 2025 Conference,the stakes are higher than ever ,with shifting global energy policies ,the push for resource maximization and the need for sustainable development.
“This platform remain indispensable.NOG Energy Week 2025 dissect the challenges and also spotlight actionable strategies that ensure Africa strengthens its role in the global energy Industry” the Organisers stated.
They also stated that the conference featured high-level discussions on policy frameworks,financing mechanisms and technological innovations needed to drive Africa’s energy transformation.
The Event served as the official meeting place for the global energy sector in sub-Saharan Africa.

It is expected that the establishment of the African Energy Bank and the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfFCTA) will signal a new chapter in regional cooperation ,opening avenues for increased financing and cross-border energy collaboration.

They expressed that Nigeria remains a focal point in the global energy debate as Africa’s largest economy’s oil production levels,gas development ambitions ,and refining sector are undergoing significant transformation.
While delivering keynote address the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited- (NNPCL) Group Chief Executive Officer Engineer Bashir Bayo Ojulari emphasised the need for Nigeria to adopt greater agility in the energy sector, also highlighted the importance of energy security for the country, raising key questions about the possibilities within the energy industry and reflecting on the progress made since last year’s (2024) NOG conversations.
AKK Gas Pipeline Cross River Niger
Mr. Bayo Ojulari announced that the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline a giant Gas project aim to connect the Northern part of Nigeria with the Southern part has successfully crossed the River Niger, boosting the hope of the project’s completion by the end of 2025.
The NNPC Chief Executive Officer said the feat was achieved through effective and innovative contract reengineering and industry collaboration.
He also disclosed that for the first time in a long while, the nation enjoyed 100% crude oil pipeline availability throughout June 2025.
This was possible through the industry-wide security interventions led by the NNPC Ltd., helped to boost crude oil production.
Call for me Investment and joint venture
Engineer Bashir however, called for more investments to boost production, adding that NNPC Ltd. has been able to turn the narrative around by consistently meeting its cash-call obligations to Joint Venture operations.
“Petroleum Industry Act (PIA 2021) has placed NNPC Ltd. in a good position to live up to its responsibility of leading the industry in financing projects.” the NNPC Group Chief Executive Officer added.
On his vision for the NOG 2025, Bashir said he would like the conference to transition from a talk shop to one where performances are celebrated and investment deals closed.
Nigeria’s refining space witnessing a renewed momentum
NNPC Executive Vice President Downstream Dr. Mumuni Dagazau highlighted the urgency of developing sustainable and environmentally responsible refining processes, noted that Nigeria’s refining space is witnessing a renewed momentum, with increased investment inflows ranging from modular units to full-scale refineries.
Explaining that sustainable refining is inherently linked to stable crude production, Dr. Dagazau observed that the Company is standardizing infrastructure across regions and embedding technology across its assets to unlock value, while deepening engagement with indigenous refiners to strengthen national energy security.
He stated this while featuring on a Strategic Panel themed “Building a Resilient & Competitive Refining Sector.”
Boosting crude oil production and growing reserves
NNPC Executive Vice President, Upstream, Udy Ntia, during a strategic panel session titled “Pragmatically Achieving Energy Abundance.” said Nigeria is making efforts towards boosting crude oil production and growing reserves through improved contracting processes and fiscal incentives, backed by President Tinubu’s Executive Orders.
He discussed the focus on partnerships with operators and stakeholders to develop upstream opportunities, especially in Nigeria’s deep water terrain.
Udy Ntia also called for a reduction in investment risks so as to improve cost-efficiency, increase revenue, and attract capital for the country.
