Former Nigeria U20 and U17 Head Coach, John Obuh is set to take up the vacant Akwa United job ahead of the 2019/2020 NPFL season.
According to sources, Akwa United will also appoint former Sunshine stars head coach Duke Udi as Obuh’s assistant.
Footballlive.ng gathered that the two coaches will resume this weekend, subject to agreeing deals with the two times Aiteo Cup winner.
Obuh was in charge of the Nigerian Under 17 team that won silver on home soil in the 2009 World Cup.
His last appointment in Nigerian league football was with Kwara United and his experience could be the turning point for the promise keepers, who are keen to win a first ever top flight league title.
