Atiku expresses sadness over Borno IDPs camp fire that killed 14

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has expressed sadness over the fire outbreak at an Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp in Borno State.

The fire incident which happened on Thursday reportedly left 14 IDPs dead and several of them injured.

The disaster took place at an IDP camp at Ngala in Mafa Local Government Area of the state. It left, according to report, no less than 700 shelters destroyed.

In a post on his Twitter handle- @atiku on Friday, the former Vice President said:

“The loss of over a dozen lives in a fire at the IDP camp in Ngala, Borno State, leaving scores injured and hundreds homeless makes me sad.

”May the souls of the deceased rest in peace.

”I hope that help will be expedited for the injured and homeless.”
