Bafana Bafana match winner Thembinkosi Lorch believes the team will be ready for the Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final against Nigeria.
In his first-ever Afcon appearances, Lorch scored the winning goal as Bafana defeated hosts Egypt in the round of 16 at the Cairo International Stadium on Saturday night.
South Africa will now lock horns with Nigeria who they faced in the qualifiers, with Stuart Baxter’s charges registering a win and a draw against the Super Eagles.
Lorch, who scooped the Man of the Match award, says confidence will be high heading in to Wednesday night’s encounter.
“The Nigeria game is going to be a tough game, Nigerians are big and strong but we will plan for them the way we planned against Egypt,” Lorch told the media, according to SAFA’s website.
“Now we believe and the confidence is sky high, anything is now possible but we must keep on pushing.”
The Super Eagles will also be high confidence after seeing off defending champions Cameroon on Saturday evening.
