Banditry: Governor El Rufai apologises to Kaduna residents

Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state has apologised to the people of the state over the losses they suffered by the resurgence of banditry in some areas of the state.
The governor, who made the disclosure on his Twitter page on Thursday, October 24, stated that he has mobilised security agencies to take urgent and appropriate action and put proactive deterrence in place.
Governor El-Rufai tweeted: “Our apologies for the grief & losses suffered by our people. We are saddened by the resurgence of banditry in these areas, & have mobilized the security agencies to take urgent, appropriate action & put in place proactive deterrence.”

The incident occurred between Monday, September 23 and Tuesday, September 24.

It was gathered that the victims of kidnap included the accountant of Jibrin Maigwari general hospital and a member of the Birnin Gwari traditional council.

An indigene of the area said the bandits also invaded Dogon Dawa villages on the evening of Tuesday, September 24, and opened fire on the villages, killing one person and later took six people away including two children.
