Borno CP Orders Investigation Into Death of Three Children

Africa-Press – Nigeria. The Borno State Commissioner of Police, Naziru Abdulmajid, has ordered a full investigation into the mysterious deaths of three children in Mafa Local Government Area of the state.

This was contained in a statement by the Command’s spokesperson, Nahum Kenneth Daso, on Thursday.

According to Daso, one Baba Zannah Jaridama and his neighbour, Muhammad Buka, residents of Annari Ali Ngoshe area, reported at the Kaleri Police Post on Tuesday that three children were missing.

He explained that Jaridama returned the following day to inform the police that the corpses of the children were discovered inside his Honda Civic car, where it had been parked.

The victims were identified as three-year-old Anwar Baba Zannah, an infant, Mama Baba Zannah, and five-year-old Ahmed Muhammad.

“Police operatives swiftly mobilised to the scene and evacuated the victims to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, UMTH, where a medical doctor confirmed them dead. The corpses have since been deposited at the hospital’s mortuary for autopsy,” Daso said.

He added that the Commissioner of Police has condoled with the bereaved family and assured that the outcome of the investigation will be made public.
