President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday engaged governors elected under the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress in a closed door meeting in Abuja.

The meeting started at the Council Chamber soon after the President arrived the venue around 11.8am with opening prayers said by Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki (Christian prayer), and Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum (Muslim prayer).

Aside Kebbi State Governor Atiku Bagudu who led the APC governors, others at the meeting included governors of Lagos, Ekiti, Edo, Plateau, Niger, Kogi, Borno, Nasarawa, Yobe, Osun and Ogun.

Katsina and Kaduna states had their deputy governors present. The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, as well as the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, were also in attendance.

Though the details of the meeting is not yet known, speculations however are that it might not be unconnected with the increasing level of insecurity in the country.
