Premier League rivals Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham are in a transfer battle to sign Lille and Nigeria forward Victor Osimhen, according to reports. Osimhen, 20, only joined Ligue 1 club Lille last summer but is already attracting interest from some of the biggest clubs in Europe. The Nigerian international has enjoyed a superb start to his career at Lille, scoring 16 goals and making three assists in 28 appearances in all competitions.
His form has caught the attention of a number of Premier League clubs, with Sky Sports claiming Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham are all plotting January moves. Blues boss Frank Lampard was not expected to be able to sign any players next month but Chelsea’s transfer ban was lifted two weeks ago. That has paved the way for a spending spree at Stamford Bridge, with Lampard keen to bolster a squad that has struggled in recent weeks, losing four of their last five Premier League games.
