Africa Press-Nigeria:
Chelsea wonderkid Bryan Fiabema has given a massive hint that he would be open to switching his international allegiance from Norway to Nigeria in the near future after following the Super Eagles on Instagram, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Born to a Nigerian father and Norwegian mother seventeen years ago, Fiabema was free to play for Nigeria’s youth teams without applying to FIFA for a change of association until October 2019 when he made his competitive debut for Norway U17s in a European Championship qualifier against Bulgaria.
Fiabema’s social media activity confirms he is a fan of the Super Eagles and their players as he is also following Everton’s Alex Iwobi and Villarreal’s Samuel Chukwueze as well as Manchester United striker Odion Ighalo.
Faustino Anjorin, Derrick Abu,Tariq Uwakwe and Jordan Aina, who are eligible to represent Nigeria and play for Chelsea’s youth teams, are among the accounts he follows on Instagram.
Quizzed on Fiabema’s international future, his agent Imad El Hammichi told allnigeriasoccer.com back in December : “It’s up to him to make a choice later for which national team he will play in. Right now he plays for the Norwegian U17s. And he is happy with that”.
Strikers Chuma Anene and Ohi Omoijuanfo have caps for Norway’s youth teams but are willing to represent the Super Eagles if approached by the Nigeria Football Federation.
Fiabema joined Chelsea in the January transfer window and has debuted for their youth teams in the U18 Premier League and Premier League 2.
