Africa-Press – Nigeria. Three Warri based lawyers and a driver kidnapped in the town have been released by their abductors.
The legal practitioners regained their freedom today.
The Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, Warri Branch, Chief Emmanuel O. Uti disclosed this in a statement he signed and made available to DAILY POST.
Chief Uti said the lawyers were released today, Saturday, February 5th, 2022, at about 1.05 am and have been reunited with their families.
“The joy and relief this has brought to us as a Branch, cannot be expressed in simple terms.”
Chief Uti expressed gratitude to God Almighty, members of the NBA Benin Branch(Lion Bar) and all who showed support and solidarity to the families of the kidnapped lawyer as well as the NBA Warri Branch during the harrowing experience occasioned by the traumatic incident.
He stated that the kidnap incident has brought to fore, the need for Edo State to take steps to clear the forest from the Ogbemudia Farms axis along the Benin-Auchi Road up to Ekpoma,
He also raised the need for every Police Area Command in Edo and Delta State to be equipped with Phone Tracking devices to help in curbing the security menace that the nation is grappling with.
While expressing gratitude to Almighty God, Chief Uti assured all that the NBA Warri Branch will always lend its voice on suggestions and steps to be taken in tackling these security challenges.
“We will not fail in our duties in pursuit of upholding the rule of law in our state. We remain committed to the safety and welfare of members of the Bar and the progress of our nation.”
It would be recalled that the lawyers were kidnapped along the Benin -Auchi Road, on February 2nd, 2022.
