Africa-Press – Nigeria. Properties worth millions of naira have been destroyed as a result of the fire that ravaged an ancient residential building in Iseyin in Oyo State.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday at Ambere Koso area in lseyin.
It was learnt that the fire started around 12am on Sunday and affected the third room of the ancient residential building.
no life was lost in the incident.
Chairman, Oyo State Fire Service, Hon Maroof Akinwande confirmed the incident.
He said, “Upon arrival, we met the third room of an ancient residential building well alighted and we swiftly swung into action and the fire was restricted from spreading to other parts of the building.
“No casualty was recorded. The fire started from the wall socket due to overloading of electrical appliances.
“The operation was carried out successfully and properties worth millions of naira were saved by the officers of the fire services”.
