Chairman of Edo State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Bishop Oyonude Kure, on Monday escaped losing his second term bid with one vote.
Last month, Edo CAN was enmeshed in crisis when some members rejected a vote of confidence passed on the Kure- led executives to continue in office unopposed.
After the election amidst tension, Kure and his executives won by scored 27 votes to continue in office.
26 members voted that they should leave office.
Speaking after the election, South-South chairman of the association, Archbishop Ige Ayokunle, urged Kure to see his re-election as the will of God.
Ige said lack of communication in Edo CAN caused friction in the association.
“What I see here is that your people want to be carried along in all that they do.
