Africa-Press – Nigeria. A morning fire has razed down the Lafia modern market in Nassarawa State.
The inferno, which began around 9:450am on Friday destroyed properties worth millions of naira.
The fire was caused by a dumpsite near the market
However, the fire was brought under control by the swift intervention of the state’s fire service.
Their prompt response salvaged some properties and ensured no lives were lost.
Efforts to reach the director of fire in the state, Joshua Ombugu proved abortive as he was unable to answer his telephone calls.
