Nigeria-eligible midfielder Faustino Anjorin is in contention to make his professional debut for Chelsea when they take on Grimsby Town in the League Cup on Wednesday evening.
Anjorin has been included in The Blues provisional squad list against The Mariners and was spotted training with the first team players, including Fikayo Tomori and Tammy Abraham, on Tuesday.

1) Anjorin was born on November 23, 2001 in Poole, England to a Nigerian father and English mom. His parents named him after Colombia and Newcastle legend, Faustino Asprilla.
2) Aged 17 years, 10 months and 2 days today, he will become the youngest ever player of Nigerian descent to feature for Chelsea in a domestic competition if he gets game time at Stamford Bridge. The absolute record is held by Dominic Solanke who made his first team debut aged 17 years, 1 month and 7 days in the UEFA Champions League.
3) Anjorin first trained with Chelsea as an U7 and officially signed for the club at U9 level. He chose to join Chelsea ahead of other clubs interested in his services because of the presence of Nigeria legend John Obi Mikel at Stamford Bridge.
4) He made his debut for Chelsea U18s in August 2017 against Aston Villa while his UEFA Youth League debut came against Atlético Madrid four months later.
5) The likes of Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint-Germain and OGC Nice have been credited with an interest in the promising central midfielder.
