LEICESTER SET TO HOLD ON TO NIGERIA STAR

24

Leicester City have out the ‘not for sale’ signs around Nigeria international forward Kelechi Iheanacho amid reports that he was being targeted by at least two other English Premier League sides.

Iheanacho has largely struggled since a £25-million move from Manchester City in 2017, making on 18 starts since then, but has rediscovered some form off the bench in recent weeks.

There was talk that Aston Villa and Crystal Palace could come in for him in January, but Rodgers will reportedly not entertain any offers.

Leicester are making another surprise bid for the Premier League title this season and would at the very least like to qualify for the UEFA Champions League in the next campaign.

Rodgers is loath to disrupt his squad with too many incomings or outgoings, and would only consider the sale of Iheanacho at the end of the campaign.
