Algerians Riyad Mahrez and Adam Ounas as well as Senegal’s Sadio Mane have a chance to increase their goal tally when the two countries face off in Friday’s Africa Cup of Nations final at the Cairo International Stadium.

While the Africa Cup of Nations title remains the ultimate prize at this tournament, the players will also fancy picking up individual accolade for personal glory, recognition and their respective career.

Nigeria’s Odion Ighalo boosted his chances of winning the Golden Boot at the Africa Cup of Nations on Wednesday after he netted Nigeria’s winner; his fifth of the tournament, to ensure his side’s finished in third place, with a 1-0 victory over Tunisia.

The 30-year-old forward scored the only goal of the match just 130 seconds after the kick-off at the Al Salam Stadium in Cairo.

If it stands this way, the Nigerian is guaranteed the top scorer gong, but Ounas, Mahrez and Mane have at least 90 minutes to deny Ighalo the highest goal scorer award.
