Africa-Press – Nigeria. National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Jigawa State command said it had intercepted over 1,300 kilograms of illicit drugs from April 2025 to date.
NDLEA state commandant, Musa Maina stated this during a rally as part of activities to commemorate international day against drug abuse and and illicit drug trafficking.
He said the war against drug abuse is a collective responsibility to ensure a healthy and productive society.
Maina explained that with the support of other security agencies, the command succeeded in seizing of 1,300 kilograms of illicit drugs from April 2025 to date.
He urged the general public to support the agency’s effort by reporting factual information about drug dealers and their hideout.
Also speaking, the Jigawa State chairman, committee on drug abuse and control, Alhaji Khadi Bashir Birnin Kudu said the aim of the event was to enlighten the people on the danger of drug abuse.
