can exclusively report that one of the most promising Nigerian teenagers on the books of a Premier League club, Ayo Tanimowo, has penned a fresh contract with Brighton & Hove.
The 17-year-old right-back, who joined The Seagulls from Norwich City last summer, has agreed a three-year professional contract which will be activated at the end of this season.
Tanimowo is highly rated within the corridors of power at the American Express Community Stadium and the English Football Association, so much so that he is in line to make his debut for the Young Lions in the near future as he has been on standby for England U18s.
It is understood that the fullback is open to representing Nigeria at international level but his parents have advised him to choose England.
Meanwhile, it is all but confirmed that Tanimowo will not suit up for the Seagulls when they tackle Everton in the FA Youth Cup on February 9 after he suffered an injury yesterday which is expected to keep him on the sidelines for 4-6 weeks.
