4. Reports indicate that 74 candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party in the forthcoming Federal Capital Territory Area Council elections are facing possible disqualification following unresolved leadership crises within the party. This comes as the Labour Party has been completely shut out of the polls, having presented no candidates on the final list released by the Independent National Electoral Commission on September 22, 2025.
5. The Super Eagles of Nigeria scored twice in the second half to seal a 3-2 win over Tunisia in their Africa Cup of Nations Group C encounter at the Fez stadium on Saturday. The incident occurred on Thursday, December 26, 2025, and involved two casual staff members working at the Government House, the police said in a statement issued on Saturday.
9. The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, has boosted the ranks of the All Progressives Congress in Kano State with the defection of two prominent members of the New Nigeria People’s Party. The defectors are Special Assistant to the Governor in the Office of the Head of Service, Umar Haruna, and Organising Secretary of the NNPP in Bichi Ward, Bichi Local Government Area, Muhammad Hussaini.
