Indian Super League club Odisha FC have officially announced the signing of Spanish-Nigerian striker Manuel Onwu Villafranca.
The Bengaluru-owned player has joined Odisha on loan for the remainder of this season.
Bengaluru have already signed a replacement for Onwu, bringing in former Barcelona winger Nili Perdomo on a deal till the end of the season.
Born to a Nigerian father and Spanish mother 32 years ago, Onwu spent his formative years as a footballer with the youth teams of Valtierrano and Tudelano before joining Osasuna in 2007.
He made 22 appearances for Osasuna in the Spanish La Liga, scoring one goal and was loaned out to Iruña and Alzira during his time with Los Rojillos.
Apart from the aforementioned clubs, Onwu has worn the jerseys of Dinamo Tbilisi, Lleida Esportiu, Lorca and UCAM Murcia.
The experienced striker has no international caps for Spain or Nigeria.
