Africa Press-Nigeria:
– PDP in Ondo state has given fresh conditions to the deputy governor, Agboola Ajayi, ahead of the guber election
– The opposition party has welcomed Ajayi to contest on its platform if he agrees to serve only one term
– However, other aspirants in the PDP have vowed not to step down for Ajayi
Speaking on the condition of anonymity, a PDP chieftain said the deputy governor will not be resigning his position and is expected to formally announce his defection to the party this week.
However, Eddy Olafeso, the southwest national vice chairman of the PDP in reaction to Ajayi becoming the party’s candidate said no party aspirant was prepared to step down for him.
Olafeso further said the Ondo state deputy governor was not yet a member of the PDP and had not even picked up either the nomination or expression of interest forms.
