Africa-Press – Nigeria. The Kaduna State Police Command has announced restriction of movement in Sabon Gari, Zaria, Chikun, and Kajuru Local Government Areas ahead of Saturday’s bye-elections.
Police spokesperson, DSP Mansir Hassan, said in a statement on Friday that the restriction will take effect from midnight on Saturday, August 16, 2025.
He said the measure is to ensure public safety, maintain order, and guarantee a smooth electoral process.
Only personnel on essential duties and individuals with valid election assignments will be allowed movement during the restriction.
The bye-elections will hold in Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency, Zaria Kewaye State Constituency, and Basawa State Constituency.
