Africa Press-Nigeria:

A former federal lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani has warned that the decision by the Katsina State government to settle bandits with houses, market stalls and farmlands will increase crime in the state.

The state government had adopted this approach towards ending the lingering killings and destruction of properties by bandits in the state.

The government, by this new method, had promised market stalls, farmlands houses to bandits willing to surrender and hand over their arms.

One of the leaders of the bandits identified as Sada is said to have already voluntarily surrendered to troops at the Forward Operation Base at Dansadau.

Mustapha Inuwa, Secretary to the Katsina State Government announced the Governor’s soft-landing measures for the ready-to-repent criminals during a news conference at the Government House during the week.
