Nigeria midfielder Afeez Aremu says he’s open to joining the Olympic Eagles, if invited for the 2019 Africa U23 Cup of Nations.

Aremu represented Nigeria at the U20s and has also played for the CHAN (home based) team, before securing a move to Norwegian side IK Start.

The midfielder, in chat with footballlive.ng, insists he is open to playing for the U23s should head Coach Imama Amapakabo extend a formal invitation.

“About the invitation, surely I will honor my country if called upon to play,” said Aremu.

“I’m yet to get a call up from the coach, but I’m free if he really needs me it’s a simple thing to do; just to get the consent of my club and approval will surely be given.

“When I was with the CHAN team, Imama was then assisting coach Salisu Yusuf, the last time we chatted was my transfer to my present club here in Norway.

“He sent in congratulatory messages, and after that, we have not spoken, but I think, he knows how to get across to me if the need arises.”
