Africa-Press – Nigeria. Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation Hadin Kai, have neutralised two Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists during an ambush around Hudugum village in the Hambagda area along the Gwoza–Limankara road in Borno State.
According to counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, who disclosed this on X on Thursday, the operation was conducted on Wednesday under Operation Desert Sanity IV/Diligent Search by troops of the 192 Battalion in collaboration with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force, CJTF.
Makama stated that the troops reportedly made contact with the terrorists’ logistics elements around 6:30 p.m. and engaged them in a gun battle, resulting in the death of two insurgents while others fled with gunshot wounds toward the Mandara Mountains.
Items recovered from the scene included three bicycles, mats, wrappers, blankets, solar panels, torchlight, clothing, condiments, and phone cases.
The operation was described as successful, with no casualty or equipment loss recorded on the part of the troops.
Troops were said to have returned safely to base around 7:50 p.m., while further exploitation of the terrorists’ withdrawal routes was expected to continue at first light.
