Africa-Press – Nigeria. Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have successfully neutralised several Boko Haram insurgents and recovered weapons in Borno and Yobe States.
The details were shared by security analyst Zagazola Makama in a post on X on Tuesday.
According to Makama, the incident in Borno happened in Kareto, where soldiers from the 145 Battalion in Damasak came under attack.
“Insurgents set off an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) before firing at the troops,” Makama wrote.
However, the soldiers quickly responded, outflanked the attackers, and neutralised many on the spot.
“After the fight, the troops recovered a range of weapons and equipment, including an automatic anti-aircraft machine gun, AK-47 rifles, ammunition, hand grenades, and other items such as a motorcycle and communication devices.”
In a separate operation in Yobe State, soldiers from the 233 Battalion, alongside members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), clashed with insurgents at Sassawa village.
Two insurgents were neutralised, and the troops recovered an AK-47 rifle, a magazine, and rounds of ammunition.
Makama noted that the troops continue to maintain a strong offensive posture to deny Boko Haram freedom of movement, working hard to secure the region and achieve the objectives of Operation Hadin Kai.
