UCH resident doctors embark on indefinite strike

Africa-PressNigeria. The Association of Resident Doctors (ARD), University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan, has embarked on an indefinite strike over unpaid salary.

Dr Temitope Hussein revealed this to newsmen on Saturday, NAN reports.

Hussein said the strike was to protest the non-payment of January, February, March and April salaries of some members of the association.

He claimed the association was protesting other issues which include the non-enrolment of some members into the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System, IPPIS.

“Some of our members are yet to be paid their four months salary.

“These are people that have families to feed and knowing how hard things are currently in the country nobody’s salary should be withheld.

“We are also protesting against the non-enrolment of some members into the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System, IPPIS which was affecting payment of their emoluments,” he said.
