Nigeria-eligible players who were on parade for their respective clubs on matchday three in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday, November 4.

Former Nigeria international Odion Ighalo is still waiting for his debut in the competition; he was a non-playing substitute for the third straight game as Manchester United suffered a shock 2-1 loss to Turkish champions Istanbul Basaksehir at the Başakşehir Fatih Terim Stadyumu.

Goals from Demba Ba and Višća earned the Turkish side their first win in the Champions League, while Anthony Martial headed home just before half time to half the deficit.

The German side were in control of the game at the interval as a brace from Erling Braut Haaland and Thorgan Hazard’s effort put them 3-0 up.

At Stamford Bridge, Chelsea beat Rennes 3-0 but the headlines will be about two controversial penalties scored by Timo Werner in the first half, particularly the second one.

French-Nigerian midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu was a non-playing substitute for the Ligue 1 club.

Tammy Abraham got in on the act early in the second half as Frank Lampard’s team secured a comfortable win.
