Unspecified number of traders reportedly kidnapped on Kaduna-Birnin Gwari highway

Africa-Press – Nigeria. Bandits, on Wednesday, allegedly abducted an unspecified number of traders travelling to Kano from Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The highway between Brinin Gwari and Kaduna at Unguwar Yako forest was blocked by bandits where they abducted the traders.

ASP Mohammed Jalige, the spokesman of Kaduna State Police Command could not respond to phone calls put to him to confirm the incident.

However, a source who sought anonymity, hinted that the victims were likely on a business trip from Birnin Gwari to Kano when they were kidnapped by the bandits.

According to him, “We spotted four empty vehicles and they said an unspecified number of people moving from Birnin-Gwari axis to Kano have been kidnapped.”

DAILY POST recalls that Brinin Gwari axis, over the years, has been a hot spot for bandits and criminal elements.
