Africa-Press – Nigeria. The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has disclosed that it is preparing to remove a Nigerian national, Ibrahim Ijaoba, from the country following a series of criminal convictions ranging from violent offences to drug-related crimes.

In a statement released on Monday, ICE confirmed that Ijaoba is presently being held in federal custody and is subject to a final deportation order.

“Ibrahim Tunde Ijaoba is a criminal illegal alien from Nigeria and a former member of the Bloods, a notoriously violent street gang,” the agency stated.

According to ICE, Ijaoba unlawfully entered the United States and subsequently built a lengthy criminal record involving multiple serious offences.

The crimes attributed to him include armed robbery, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer using a firearm, assault and aggravated assault, obstruction of justice, drug trafficking, as well as escaping from police custody.

ICE further noted that the Nigerian national will remain detained until arrangements for his removal from the United States are concluded.

The agency did not provide details regarding the date of his entry into the country or a specific timeline for his deportation.

Meanwhile, ICE has continued to face criticism under President Donald Trump’s administration, with allegations of human rights violations and disregard for court rulings as enforcement actions against undocumented immigrants intensified.
