Africa-Press – Nigeria. Kwankwaso who is the Presidential Candidate of New Nigerian Peoples Party; NNPP and Peter Obi the Presidential Candidate of Labour Party are former Governors of two major Commercial Centers of Northern and Eastern Nigeria Kano and Anambara States.

The two Politicians have done a political move that can be described as extra ordinary by turning the Political Parties that are almost unknown by Nigerians into a third force in the current politics ahead of 2023 elections.

Kwankwaso and Peter Obi were all members of People Democratic Party PDP during the 2019 Presidential election as Peter Obi was the Vice Presidential Candidate of Atiku Abubakar and Kwankwaso was a Presidential aspirant then.

Why a move for an alliance between Peter Obi and Kwankwaso fails

It was not a news that Kwankwaso and Obi tried to form alliance ahead of 2023 Presidential election but the effort was not successful.

One of the reasons that crippled the move is on who is to be the Presidential Candidate between the two as none of them expressed readiness to serve as running mate.

According to what Nigerian media reported Kwankwaso claimed Seniority over Peter Obi interns of age and experience in Politics and Governance as former Governor of Kano State which has the highest Population in the Country with composition of Nigerians from all part of the Country besides being the Former Minister of defence ,Former Deputy Speaker of House of representatives and Nigerian special envoy to Defur during the Sudan Crises which he was appointed by the former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

While Peter Obi was the Former Governor of Anambara State ,Honorary Special Adviser to the President Good luck Johnathan on Economy and Vice Presidential Candidate to Atiku Abubakar under PDP during the 2019 Presidential election Claimed that he can solved Nigerian Problems more than Kwankwaso ,hence deserved to be the President not Deputy.

With Peter Obi Picking Datti Hakim Baba Ahmad as his running mate while Kwankwaso choice of Bishop Isaac Idahosa as Vice Presidential Candidate was a deadlocked for the matter of alliance between NNPP Presidential Candidate and that of Labour Party.

Hisham Habib who is the former NNPP Chairman Kano State chapter also Journalist and Political analyst says another reason for the failure of the alliance is the quest for the South East to produce President of Nigeria.

Hisham Habib added that the move which started with high hope from Nigerians says both Obi and Kwankwaso are good material but in Politics there are many interest to be taking into consideration.

The analyst says the third force move established by the Politicians will be very effect in Nigerian Politics during 2023 election and in 2027.

As two Political Parties APC and PDP dominated the Political space.

The Parties that failed Nigerians in all aspects need to be replace by the third force Parties

He added that with the third force Nigerians will have more options at all levels right from States Assembly to Presidency.

With failure of Peter Obi and Kwankwaso to reach consensus there were alot of Political discussion and cold war between the followers of these Candidates such as Don Okupe the spoke Person of Peter who says Kwankwaso wanted to tapped from Peter Obi’s Popularity from the South east

While Engineer Buba Galadima a renown Political commentator and Kwankwaso’s right man says during an interview with channels TV that Igbo’s are not ready to produce the next President as they keep missing the opportunity since second republic.

Galadima added that Kwankwaso has more experience than Obi in terms of leadership.
