Furthermore, Oliseh is also surprised that no Premier League club has made a move for Ndidi as yet. Speaking to Nigerian outlet Brila, he said:
“The point is that in the past three or four years, maybe five, he has been the best midfielder we have.
“And he has not just been the best we needed to run with, he has been the best we have.
“When you see him doing what he’s doing in a club that is average; with all due respect, like Leicester, imagine what Ndidi will do if he was playing at Manchester City.
“He is the man that is not so tall like me, but look at the heart, he has a big heart.
“The man is everywhere he works so hard and even the new coach at Leicester, he’s still his first choice.”
“Each time I see him play, I have always been impressed that he can do much much better.
“I am very very surprised that they’ve not bought him.
“He is the best we have and in the senior team, we don’t have a player like Ndidi.
“He is technical, tactical and strong even though he’s not a heavyweight in size, but he punches like one.”
Who’s going to tell Oliseh that maybe, Ndidi realises that where he is, he is happy and, of course, on course to achieve something special?
And who’s telling him that Leicester have been above City in the league table for the majority of the season? You will have to be well above “average” to do that because if that is what an average Leicester can do, imagine the things they could achieve when they are actually good.
One cannot deny that a move to a bigger club could open up many a few possibilities for Ndidi and he could indeed become a better player – like N’Golo Kante; however, there are no guarantees in football.
