Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo of Gombe State, North East, Nigeria on Friday presented an estimate of N104,922,472,305.00 Appropriation Bill before the State House of Assembly for. consideration as 2018 fiscal plan.
The Governor presented the financial plan tagged “Budget of Enhanced Growth and Development” to the legislatures during the House last plenary of the year.
The estimates comprises of N51 bn and N52 bn as recurrent and capital expenditures respectively.
He said his administration would consolidate on its efforts to transform the education sector in the state through upgrading of infrastructure, provision of equipment and materials as well as improving the capacity of teachers.
He said there would sustained efforts to continue to provide physical infrastructure for the socio-economic development of the state.
The Governor said the agricultural sector would among other things be given a boost to stimulate economic development.
On the implementation of the 2017 budget, Gov. Dankwambo rated his administration’s performance in the outgoing year as 66.5 percent for recurrent expenditure and 88.13 percent for capital receipts.
He said the 2018 budget would be financed from by an estimated recurrent revenue of over N68 bn and capital receipts of over N53 bn while a budget deficit of over N16 bn is being envisaged during the 2018 fiscal year.
