Africa-Press – Nigeria. The Jukun Youth Cultural and Development Association, JYCDA, has condemned the killing of one of its members, Nwubu Gani Pujen, in Wukari local government council of Taraba State.
The group described the incident as a “tragic and senseless” act.
The incident which has continued to cause palpable tension, was reported to has occurred on the evening of Sunday, August 10, 2025.
The group condemned the incident in a statement signed by its President, Mr. Audu Danjuma, and made available to our reporter on Tuesday in Wukari.
JYCDA also alleged that Nwubu was attacked and killed after discovering the extensive destruction of his farmland allegedly caused by Fulani herdsmen.
“This cowardly and brutal act is not only an assault on the life of an innocent man but also a direct threat to the peace, security, and livelihood of the entire community.
“Farmlands are the lifeline of rural families, and any attack on them is an attack on our survival, economy, and heritage,” the statement read.
The association called on security agencies and local vigilance groups to urgently apprehend the perpetrators and ensure they face the full weight of the law, stressing that justice must be served without fear or favour to deter future attacks.
While extending condolences to the family of the deceased, the JYCDA pledged its continued commitment to promoting peace, unity, and justice, as well as defending the rights and safety of its people.
