Why more criminal gangs are emerging in Nigeria?
The question of why more criminal gangs are emerging in a Country that major percentage of its Citizens are at their productive age is difficult to answer but frankly the problem is connected to the country’s bad leadership.
As some Political and Security analysts said the security challenges face by the most populous black Nation on earth is the bioproduct of bad leadership , economic stability and hard ship.
Citing example with Kidnapping for ransom ,activities of Niger Delta Militants and Farmers herders Clash in different instancies.
Muhammad Kabir Ya’U is Chairman Association of Crime and Judicial Correspondents in Kano State.
He said Boko Haram attracted more members in North eastern Part of Nigeria do to poverty and neglegency experienced by the people of the area Particularly Youths.
Ya’U added that even the banditry and Kidnapping which is mostly attributed to Fulani ethnic group is an out come of long time neglect by previous Governments.
” Nothing has been done for Fulani apart from Normadic education system Introduced during the Military administration of General Baban Gida and it couldn’t go far, unfortunately, I could not say the initiative die but stop to be functional”
Another remote cause of the Fulani Involvement in criminality such as Kidnapping and banditry is the issue of Cattle rustling which make the Fulani vulnerable and extremely poor.
The Crime and Judicial Correspondents chairman described the Independent people of Biafra’s agitation as a long time move for separating or succeeding from Nigeria by some Igbo ethnic Members from the South east.
“The separatists don’ t forget Started long time ago ,it is even the reason behind the Nigerian Civil War from 1967 to 1970.”
Muhammad Kabir said unfortunately the previous administration pretended as what led to civil war has been tackled and behave as all is well.
The IPOB members main cry is marginalization , lack of involvement in the National Government and in the Security arena of Nigeria.

Security Strategies Expert

On his Part Detective Auwalu Bala Durumin lya who is a security and strategies expert stated that the Nigeria’s insecurity is connected with global insecurity issues as different countries have their peculiar unrests.
Detective Auwal Durumin Iya Identified Northern Nigeria as the must affected region that suffers from various form of terrorism.
The Insecurity in the north ranges from Domestic violence , Street unrest , religious and organize Crimes such as catle rustling Kidnapping and Boko haram activities in the North Eastern States.
The security expert lamented on the insecurity situation in the Nigerian Tertiary Institutions, Secondary Schools as well as Primary Schools. and how they are becoming more vulnerable to various security threat which he said if drastic meassures are not taking the hole educational system of Nigeria will destroyed!
Strategies to tackle the Insecurity
He urged Government to take proactive measures in addressing the menace by directing every University to initiate security awareness program targeting youths who are mostly Involve in abduction and Kidnapping for economic gain and out of prostration, do to lack of employment opportunities in the Country .
That can be achieved through seminars ,workshops ,advocacy visits
and Media Programs.
He also suggested that there should be sanctions pronouncement with specific penalties against those pay ransom to the kidnappers as to serve as deterrence to those involved and willing to involve.
“There is also need for forest Marshall policy system in Universities and establishment of Centers for Intelligence research in al universities”
The Security expert express that if Government Commit more Seriousness and resources towards providing Security in the Country Nigeria will realized its full economic potential as he added that security is the bedrock of every development.
