2023: Atiku, Saraki, Wike, Okowa, Obaseki are viable presidential candidates – PDP’s Ehilebo

Africa-PressNigeria. Atiku Abubakar, a former Vice President, and Bukola Saraki, ex-Senate President, have been described as viable presidential candidates.

Anthony Ehilebo, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Director of New Media, disclosed this while speaking exclusively with DAILY POST.

Ehilebo said Atiku, who was PDP’s last presidential candidate, and Saraki have been working towards occupying Nigeria’s highest political seat.

He disclosed that both PDP chieftains have well-structured machinery in place and quietly working towards their aspirations.

Despite their silent presidential aspirations, Ehilebo noted that the final decision on who emerges would be the collective decision of the PDP.

According to Ehilebo: “Atiku is a viable candidate but he may just be a victim of circumstance that is beyond his control or that of anybody.

“Saraki is also a viable candidate and he has been working on becoming the party’s flag bearer. You know the thing with this is that these guys have been working towards becoming the president; it didn’t just start today.

“So, they have their machineries on ground and have been oiling them. But, there is the greater machinery of the party that would have its final say.”

However, both Atiku and Saraki are yet to publicly declare their intentions to run for the presidency in 2023.

While his presidential campaign posters have been sighted, Atiku, however, denied being responsible for them.

Ehilebo also pointed out that Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, Governor Ugwuanyi of Enugu, and Seyi Makinde of Oyo State are all viable presidential candidates.

He added: “The PDP both North and South has very viable Presidential candidates and with the primaries, it will be up to the people to decide who appears on the ballot.

“Now, we have Wike, his is a viable presidential candidate; he has been supporting both party members in the North and South. He practically takes care of the party’s runnings.

“Then, we have an Okowa who meets the demand of being from the Southsouth and also an Igbo. We also have an Obaseki; who may not be a problem if put on the ballot paper.

“From the Southeast, we have Ugwuanyi, who has experienced relative stability. And if we go to the Southwest, out star boy is there; Makinde. We are not lacking; of you see, these people cuts across all regions.

“In all of these, the party would take the final decision and right now they are trying to get one position or the other and shortly they would come up with something.

“PDP has candidates across both sides of the Niger.”
