Africa-Press – Nigeria. The Adamawa State Commissioner for Works, Adamu Atiku Abubakar, has opted not to defect to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Adamu, who is the son of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, was noticeably absent from the list of 22 commissioners who accompanied Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri to formally announce their defection from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress.
It was earlier reported that the Adamawa governor and the commissioners made their position known during a public declaration.
However, Adamu’s absence from the delegation has drawn attention, as he remains one of the few top government officials yet to align with the APC in the state.
While no official statement has been issued by Adamu explaining his decision, it was gathered that he has chosen to remain in the PDP for now.
