Africa-Press – Nigeria. The lawmaker representing Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency, at the House of Representative, Daniel Amos has officially defected to the ruling party, All Progressives Congress, APC.

In a letter of resignation to the Ward chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, Jagindi Ward, Jema’a local government area in Kaduna State, Saidu said, “I write to formally tender my resignation from the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, with immediate effect.”

He added, “This decision did not come lightly, as I have, over the years, given my utmost commitment and loyalty to the ideals of the party.”

The House member stated that the PDP has offered him a valuable platform to serve, contribute, and engage in the democratic process, for which he remained deeply thankful.

“However, it has become increasingly evident that the perennial crises and unresolved internal divisions that continue to bedevil the party, particularly at the national levels, have made it difficult to pursue collective progress and uphold the principles of unity and purpose upon

which the party was founded,” he explained.

Amos explained that after wide consultations with his supporters and stakeholders, he believed that it is time to look ahead to a new chapter that better aligns with his convictions and the aspirations of his constituents for effective representation and meaningful development.

He said, “I sincerely thank all PDP leaders and members, especially at the State, Jema’a/Sanga LGA for their support and fellowship over the years.

“I remain committed to working with all who share a vision for the advancement of Kaduna State and our great nation.”

While briefing newsmen in Kafanchan on Friday on the official defection of many PDP members from Southern Kaduna to the ruling party on Saturday, he stated that their defection stands to benefit the area, Kaduna state and the country as a whole.

He assured that he and the defectors would continue to work together with members of the ruling party to ensure the Southern Kaduna zone benefit from the federal and state governments.
