APC Group Urges Tinubu to Reshuffle Cabinet

Africa-Press – Nigeria. A support group within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on President Bola Tinubu to reshuffle his cabinet and remove ministers allegedly sabotaging his government, warning that delays could affect the party’s chances in the 2027 general elections.

The APC League of Democrats made the call in a statement signed on Monday by its National Coordinator, Hon. Babajide Oyewole and Secretary, Chief Rowland Okonkwo, made available to newsmen in Abuja.

The group described the cabinet reshuffle as long overdue, saying some minister were due for immediate removal.

“Those ministers who are up and doing, like the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, could be retained, while others should be reshuffled to ensure efficiency and service delivery,” the statement said.

The group accused the finance ministers of defying presidential directives to resolve a lingering impasse between the Federal Government and Indigenous Contractors, whose payments totaling N4 trillion remain outstanding.

The statement added that ongoing protests by contractors and civil society organisations, as well as recent demonstrations by lawyers at the Finance Ministry, highlight the urgency of removing unproductive ministers.

“The President must act urgently to protect the government’s image, ensure efficiency, and safeguard APC’s chances in the 2027 elections,” the group said.
