Africa-Press – Nigeria. The All Progressives Congress has told opposition parties to stop disputing the espected outcome of the 2027 general elections and instead focus on the 2031 polls, insisting that its mandate remains valid.
The All Progressives Congress National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, made the statement on Tuesday, March 25, 2026, in Abuja, while reacting to continued opposition disputes over the 2027 general election outcome.
He said, “the opposition must accept the reality of the election and move forward rather than dwell on what he described as settled matters”.
He went further to say that “The 2027 elections have been concluded and the mandate freely given to our party by Nigerians is not in doubt, those still agitating should channel their energy towards preparing for 2031.”
He added that endless disputes over a concluded election do not serve the interest of democracy, stressing that the ruling party remains focused on governance and delivering on its promises.
Mr Morka further urged opposition parties to adopt issue-based politics, noting that “constructive engagement”, not distraction, is what the country needs at this time.
