Africa-Press – Nigeria. Few weeks to the Presidential election in Nigeria a lot of issues are coming up which will probably affect the voters decision during the January 25th Presidential poll.

One of most prominent among them is the recent pronouncement of the ruling Party’s Presidential flag bearer Bola Tinubu during his Campaign in Ogun State.

Different media in Nigeria reported the APC Candidate saying fuel scarcity and Currency resigned are part of strategies to stop his election as the next Nigeria’s President.

This accusation according many commentators is directly pointing at the present administration under President Buhari who initiated the redesigned of Naira note and provide short deadline which Nigerians are finding it difficult to swap their old bank notes with new ones despite several calls by the National Assembly and the general Citizens to postpone the deadline .

Tinubu blames APC led Government

A new twist was added to the current fuel scarcity in the country and the decision of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to redesign the N200, N500 and 1,000 banknotes, as the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, alleged that both events were contrived to sabotage his victory at February 25th election.

This created a lot of controversies as different interpretation is giving to the statement. Tinubu said he will win, despite the disruptions.

Adopting a cautiously belligerent tone, Tinubu told a mammoth crowd of APC members and supporters at the party’s presidential campaign rally in Abeokuta that the fuel scarcity and naira redesign project were artificially created to discourage people from voting for APC. He said the target was to deny him victory .

In a vague reference to those he referred to as the powers that Tinubu wondered why the fuel scarcity, which began in October last year, had not abated.

PDP and AAC Presidential Candidates Reaction

But in a swift reaction to Tinubu’s comments, the presidential candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, alleged that the APC candidate was frustrated by his inability to stop the cashless policy and currency redesign of the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Atiku said the monetary policies would curb vote buying and enhance the credibility of next month’s election, claiming Tinubu has begun crying over his imminent defeat due to frustration of his strongest strategies.

Omole Sowore is a renown human right activist in Nigeria and the Presidential Candidate of African Action Congress – AAC.

He said Tinubu’s statements did not come as a surprise because he sometimes speaks in tongues.

The activist stated this while speaking on Arise Tv ” Prime Time Program” recently.

The AAC Presidential Candidate said if Nigerians should truly understand Tinubu very well, they should know that he has been sending a huge, powerful message that the Nigerian people should not vote for him and his party.

Sowore said, He is from the APC. They are the cause of fuel scarcity. He is just begging Nigerians not to vote for him but people don’t listen to him. You know he speaks in tongues sometimes and this is what he has done again.

The second aspect of it is that he is revealing the fractured relationship within the top hierarchy of the ruling party.

The truth is that President Muhammadu Buhari is just pretending to be supporting him but he is actually working for another candidate.

But the biggest message from it is that he is begging not to be voted into office and I hope Nigerians understand the nuances and the power of that message; that look, they brought you this misery and if you want to continue in the misery, vote for them otherwise, how can a driver of a vehicle complain that he didn’t know that the tyres were deflated embarking on the journey.

He restated that it means things are fallen apart in APC and his Party AAC love it that way because now, Nigerians are coming to the realisation of what they have always said..

Even though Tinibu’s spoke persons are trying to divert the public attention from the statement attributed to the Presidential Candidate but it has already created a lot of confusion among Nigerians.

Such mistakes at this critical time by a Presidential Candidate can be described as Political suicide.
