Africa-Press – Nigeria. A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in Kano State, Dr. Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso, has described former governor Nasir El-Rufai “an expired politician” who employs desperate tactics, blackmail and lies to get what he wants.
In a statement he personally issued, he stated that the lies being made against President Bola Tinubu and others by El-Rufai were known to Nigerians and political watchers, assuring that the former governor’s political manoeuvres had woefully failed.
According to Kwankwaso, el-Rufai’s actions were targeted at undermining President Tinubu and other politicians ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking on the presidency in 2027, he said that none could compete with the current president in the upcoming elections, saying that all those positioning themselves for the presidency have been tested and failed from their previous antecedents.
He explained that El-Rufai failed in his political manoeuvres, saying that the recent bye-election in Kaduna State was evidence of the former governor’s lack of grassroots support and acceptance.
He warned El-Rufai that he cannot discourage President Tinubu out of the 2027 contest the way he did to former President Jonathan in 2015, using poverty, insecurity and economic devastation, because his (El-Rufai) nefarious tendencies were known to everyone in the country.
According to him, it was the same blackmail strategies El-Rufai and his allies used against Jonathan in 2015, stressing that Nigerians have woken up from their slumber politically to know those who sincerely want to work for peace and progress of the country.
