Lamido denies withdrawing court case against PDP

Africa-Press – Nigeria. Former Jigawa State Governor and chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Dr Sule Lamido, has dismissed reports claiming he has withdrawn his court case against the party, describing the allegation as false and misleading.

Lamido made this clarification on his official Facebook page while reacting to the recent report alleging that he had withdrawn his case.

It was reported that Lamido had allegedly withdrawn his case against the PDP.

“I have directed my legal counsels to withdraw my case against PDP after my meeting with Oyo State Governor, a noble and peaceful man, Engr Seyi Makinde, who have assured that all Stakeholders will be carried along, irrespective of today’s ruling at the Abuja Federal High Court. The National Convention can now go on. I am in full support,” Lamido allegedly said according to the report.

Sule Lamido, however, disassociated himself from it, describing it as fake news.

According to him: “I have received several telephone calls across the country from PDP members about the story below making the rounds in Ibadan at the purported PDP Convention venue. I urge members to note as follows: that the story/statement attributed to me below is false. A Federal High Court today at around 2:30 pm passed a judgment affirming my right to contest the chairmanship of the PDP, which had been denied me earlier.

“An order stopping the Ibadan PDP Convention scheduled for 15th and 16th November 2025 remains in force until the PDP complies with the Court ruling.”

He further affirmed that the order prevents INEC from supervising or observing the Convention.

“A certified order stopping the Ibadan Convention has already been delivered to INEC and PDP. Disregard the story below in its entirety,” he added.
