Africa-Press – Nigeria. A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Fred Agbedi, has said that the anti-party activities bedeviling the party is not all about the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.
Agbedi made this statement on Monday, while responding to questions in an interview on Arise Television.
Agbedi, who is also the Chairman of the South-South Caucus of the House of Representatives, expressed optimism that the PDP will emerge stronger, united, and well-organised ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to him, despite the party’s past challenges, it remains resilient and committed to repositioning itself for victory.
“PDP is strong enough. PDP will be stronger. PDP will be well organized. PDP will be ready for 2027,” he said.
The lawmaker also flayed fears of mass defections, noting that the party’s focus is on rebuilding its structure rather than chasing individuals.
“It’s not about Wike alone. It is beyond Wike. You know, there are a lot of others who have played anti-party in one way or the other, who are members of PDP, who are saying, ‘No, no, no, I’m going to support so-and-so person, I’m going to vote for so-and-so person,” he said.
