PDP crisis: Damagum now against me after helping him – Wike

Africa-Press – Nigeria. Minister of the Federal Capital, Nyesom Wike, has suggested that the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Umar Damagun, betrayed him.

Wike claimed that he has turned out to become Damagum’s enemy, adding that the PDP Chairman won’t hesitate to kill him if he had the opportunity.

He said that he was the reason Damagun is still in that position as the PDP Chairman, adding that he did everything within his powers to put him there.

“I did everything, I had his lawyers, and that’s what sustained Damagum to be there,” Wike said on Thursday while fielding questions on Channels Television’s Politics Today.

“But who is Damagum’s enemy now? It is me. If there is one person Damagum wants to be killed, it is me,” he added.

Meanwhile, a former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, had called on the Damagun-led National Working Committee, NWC, to expel Wike, former Benue State governor, Samuel Ortom, former Abia State governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, and others from the PDP.

He urged the NWC to wield the big stick and sanction members who openly undermine the party to the advantage of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
