Africa-Press – Nigeria. Over one hundred members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, have defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Kebbi State.
Governor Nasir Idris received the defectors on Thursday in Yauri. They were drawn from Yauri, Shanga, and Ngaski Local Government Areas and led by a former lawmaker, Barrister Mudi Abubakar Musa Warra.
Speaking during the event, Warra said their decision was influenced by the policies and programmes of the Idris administration, particularly in agriculture, education, health, and infrastructure.
APC State Chairman, Abubakar Kana-Zuru, assured the new members of equal treatment, while Governor Idris described the defection as significant for the ruling party in Kebbi and pledged to sustain efforts to improve security and development across the state.
