Africa-Press – Nigeria. Motorists are stuck as a result of a gridlock that has lasted for several hours along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The gridlock which took over the Sagamu-Interchange axis of the highway, is extending towards the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and Abeokuta-Kobape-Siun- Sagamu Expressway (PMB Expressway).

Our correspondent observed that while some commuters turned to using commercial motorcycles, others treked along the Sagamu and Abeokuta routes. It was also observed that private vehicles were attempting to turn around.

Meanwhile, the Spokesman of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, Babatunde Akinbiyi, has advised travellers to take alternative routes to avoid the traffic logjam.

“Consequently, travellers are advised to take alternative routes, particularly for those that are just driving towards the axis and for those that are already held up in the traffic jam.

“They should be patient and apply caution as TRACE, police and the FRSC are already on ground and on top of the situation to resolve the traffic conflict.”
