Africa-Press – Nigeria. The Commander 14 Brigade Nigerian Army, Ohafia, Brigadier General Ahmad Mansur Dikko has charged the officers and soldiers of 144 Battalion Headquarters(Rear) to remain vigilant, disciplined, and operationally ready in the ongoing Operation Eastern Sanity.
Brig. Gen Dikko gave the charge when he conducted a maiden operational visit to 144 Battalion Headquarters (Rear) as part of the efforts to sustain security within the South-East region.
Addressing the officers and soldiers, the Brigade Commander commended them for maintaining security and stability within their operational environment and charged them to remain professional and also sustain all efforts aimed at denying criminal elements freedom of action within the area.
Brig. Gen. Dikko also seized the opportunity to address members of the Nigerian Army Soldiers’ Wives Association (NASWA) 144 chapter, expressing appreciation to them for welcoming his entourage and for their resilience in defending the home front.
As part of activities marking the visit, the Commander inspected ongoing construction of the unit’s Military Reception Station (MRS) within the barracks, where he assessed the level of progress on the project aimed at improving educational facilities for children of military personnel.
Receiving the Brigade Commander and his entourage, the Commander Officer (Rear), Major I.S. Mekwunye, briefed Brig. Gen. Dikko on the operational activities of the unit and the general security situation across the Battalion’s Area of Responsibility.
