Africa-Press – Nigeria. The Abia State House of Assembly has confirmed the nomination of Mr Chiemela Uzoije and Dr. Salome Obiukwu as commissioner designates in the state.
This followed their earlier nomination by Governor Alex Otti and subsequent screening by the House of Assembly.
The confirmation was announced on Thursday by the Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Emmanuel Emeruwa.
Emeruwa had earlier read a letter of their nomination, forwarded by the governor, seeking their confirmation.
The letter explained that the nominees were screened at the Executive session and were found fit for appointment as commissioners.
The Assembly also confirmed the appointment of Mrs Virginia Igbanibo as Deputy Clerk of the State House of Assembly, having served in the position in acting capacity for some time.
The House which just resumed after its annual recess, adjourned plenary to reconvene on 30th September.
